Watch Superman Streaming - News & Rumors Updates

Alright Super Friends, here's what I know... some of it is brand new and some of it isn't but needs to be addressed.

It seems that the Zachary Levi as the Man of Steel rumors were a tad premature and off base. It had been said, and written here, that Levi was rumored to be on the studio's list of actors being considered for the role and may have even auditioned already. However, Levi shot down the news himself with the following quote.

"It's complete fiction. A bummer that it's complete fiction!"
"I start getting these text messages from my friends, saying, 'What is going on? You didn't tell us any of this!' And I'm asking, 'What are you talking about?' I get this link emailed to me from my publicist. She goes, 'Just so you know…' I go check it out, and of course, on the bottom of that article there's all these comments, and every other article that spawned off of that and all the comments on those sites."

In today's news the word is that Jonathan Nolan won't be directing the movie and that David Goyer has become the leading candidate to sit behind the camera and yell action.

I'm okay with this. Like I said before, the Superman title would be a huge and ambitious first attempt to direct a feature film. Maybe Jon can do something smaller and be ready to take over for the second Superman film.

There are those who aren't hyped on the Goyer choice, mainly because of Blade: Trinity, but I don't hold him too responsible for that. Once you get to the third movie of a title things can get dicey. For examples see Die Hard With a Vengeance, Spider-Man 3 and Batman Forever.

So, that's the news that is news for now. Stay tuned for more as there are lots of decisions to be made between now and the start of filming sometime in 2011.

Superman - Rumors!

There are 2 hot rumors attached to the Superman reboot circling the internet right now. In case you haven't heard them yet, here they are.

-> Christopher Nolan's brother Jonathan will be making his directorial debut with the new Man of Steel feature. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The Nolan brothers have proved a successful duo in the past in their writing and directing efforts. But it's always been Christopher calling the shots on set. Superman is a huge title for a guy to be taking his first shot at the director's chair.

-> Zachary Levi (Tangled) has been in to see the studio execs for an audition. There is no confirmation that the audition was for the role of Superman... but the rumors say that it was. Now, I love Levi in Chuck. A lot. And if someone tells me that he has the part of Clark Kent I don't think I would be too worried about that part of the movie.

So, there you have it friends. The 2 newest rumors on the Superman front. I'm going to be keeping my ear to the ground for as much information that I can find as soon as I can find it.

Superman - Coming 2012!

We know that Christopher Nolan has his hands full directing the next Batman movie, and that's probably why he has positioned himself only as producer of the Superman reboot.

Superman will be back in 2012. Mark it on your calendar.

Nolan will be writing the script and screenplay with one of his key collaborators, David S. Goyer.

Nolan has said that while both he and Goyer liked the way that Superman Returns connected with Superman: The Movie (1978) and Superman II (1980) he has come out and said that the new Superman movie will stand alone.

It has also been announced that the 2012 Superman movie will be released in IMAX when it comes to theaters.
